Erin Mihalka is a versatile musician, singer, songwriter, and performer who is based in Los Angeles, California. Her style is heavily influenced by her Southern Californian upbringing where she grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, and Heart. Her debut album, Screaming Heart, was released in 2025 and features influences from these 20th Century greats as well as more contemporary artists such as Miley Cyrus, Haim, Harry Styles, and Tame Impala. The album is composed of Erin’s original songs. She also performed all the vocals and guitar herself.

Screaming Heart is a narrative album that follows the story of a young woman who fell in love with and eventually escaped from an abusive partner. Her goal in releasing this album was to inspire anyone in a similar situation to recognize their worth and not give up on themselves. From the raucous, youthful exuberance of “Bad Behavior,” to the earnest pleading of “I Don’t Know,” to the defiant resolve of “Take It,” Screaming Heart captures a moody, nostalgic, and authentic feeling that is extremely relatable to anyone who ever experienced such a tumultuous time in their life.

Erin graduated from CalArts in 2023 with a BFA in VoiceArts and currently teaches guitar, piano, and voice lessons in Los Angeles when she is not performing. She also holds a special place in her heart for stand-up and improv comedy, which she brings into her songwriting and performance style. Whether she is playing live, writing, or teaching music, she values bringing in elements of comedy and raw emotion to connect with her audience. She has personally used songwriting as a mode for working through her own emotions, and loves that her words and performances can relate to others’ lives. Erin performs her original music with her band at local shows throughout LA, but would love to tour in the future.
